Free Food pantries /Food Banks

Food banks and free food pantries listed below help families that are facing hunger. The pantries are mostly located at churches and non-profits in the region. Most of the free food pantry locations may have an application process, which usually requires proof of income, residency proof etc. Using donations from the community, and relying on volunteers, the locations may pass out free boxes of food or serve a meal.

Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch can be reached at (609) 383 – 8843. Note they do not provide items directly to the public. However they can serve as a source of referrals and information. The state of NJ Community Food Bank distributes food to almost 600 non-profit organizations, charities, and groups across Burlington and other counties. All recipient organizations that receive food are 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies which have their own food assistance programs to feed those in need. So families can turn to these places for groceries and they include places like soup kitchens, day care centers, battered women’s shelters, senior programs, half-way houses, churches, agency on aging offices, and similar. The food bank also relies on donations, and volunteers are also the lifeline of the organization. Volunteer or donate if you can.

Catholic Charities Emergency Services

A food bank is offered, as well as a 24 hour, 7 days-a- week emergency shelter program. After-hours services are offered too, and are referred to caseworkers. Emergency Services is an anti-poverty program providing for basic needs such as clothing, free food, shelter, and holiday meals.

The food pantry from this non-profit organization is available to residents of Delanco, Riverside, and Delran New Jersey. Food and groceries are donated by local churches, volunteers, and members of the community. This location will also have free Christmas or Thanksgiving meals, or refer families to locations of them in Burlington County.

This locations focuses on helping young mothers and children in crisis and/or transition. Assistance provided includes free computer training, parenting skills, counseling, mentoring, and emergency food and clothes.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
The volunteer organizations and churches provide food to needy individuals in the region. Many centers also provide referrals, Christmas meals and/or gifts, and other social services. Some limited amounts of emergency funds can be available for utility bills, rent, and security deposits. There are three main locations in the community as per below.
